Wood Wood’s aesthetic infuses clean Scandinavian modernism with a whimsical, slightly twee sense of play. Champion, on the other hand, made its name on simplicity and an almost stoic approach to a now-iconic status that betrays the company’s working-class roots in Rochester. On the surface, Danish brand Wood Wood and American athletic specialists Champion don’t seem to have much in common.
Both brands have become promiscuous collaborators, though. Champion’s by now worked with pretty much every streetwear brand of note, while Wood Wood’s worked with everyone from Reebok to 7-Eleven. So it’s no surprise that they’ve finally ended up in bed together.

The results meet somewhere near the middle of the two brands’ identities, with a tee, two sweatshirts (hooded and crewneck), and a coach’s jacket in classic Champion cuts and colors, with a hand-drawn design that turns its iconic logo into the “c” in “Romantic,” adding a bit of Wood Wood-style cuteness to the mix.
The collection drops tomorrow in Wood Wood’s Berlin store. The rest of us will have to wait for the line’s global release on July 13.
