Coachella kicks off festival season on April 14. And while the lineup looks solid, the style has gotten a little out of hand over the years. While some guys don’t care at all, other guys care a little bit too much. (Think green furry capes.) The trick is to keep things simple and comfortable, but to still give some thought to what you look like. Whether you’re dealing with broiling heat or the evening cool-off—or planning on hitting another massive music event this summer—here are four great outfits for the festivities.
Oversized Graphic Tee And Chinos
Yes, a lot of guys will be wearing tank tops. But why be another brick in the wall? Stand out with an oversized cut-off sleeve graphic tee instead. And then pair it with some light cotton chinos and classic Vans Old Skools for that sunny California skater vibe.

Denim Jacket and Jeans
The thing about the California desert is that it often gets cold at night. Which means you’re going to want a jacket. A light wash denim jacket and faded black jeans is the perfect way to ward off the chill and still maintain your rock ‘n’ roll vibe.

Sleeveless Tee and Shorts
If it is 9,000 degrees out during the day, which it probably will be, a bit of ventilation is a good idea. But there’s a way to do it where you’ll look more like a grown-up festival-goer and less like an 11-year-old at a pool party. Try a sleeveless tee with a rocker vibe rather than a tank-top, and then pair it with some low-key linen shorts and a cool (literally) pair of sneakers with a breathable knitted upper.

Basic White Tee and Jeans
For the guy who wants to be stylish but has no interest in drawing attention to himself, you can’t beat a basic white tee and faded blue jeans. Round it off with rolled cuffs, no socks, and a pair of suede desert boots (and for that festival vibe, an optional straw hat), and you’ll be relatively cool, understated, and, most importantly, looking good.
